MISSION: Joplin Relief Supplies

May 27, 2011 Leave a comment

We’ve made it to Joplin and unloaded most of the supplies at the Downtown campus for First Baptist. Tomorrow Mark Wayne, Logan, and Jay will head out with a chainsaw team. Rhonda will be going with Christy to the FBC South campus to help with distribution of supplies there. I’m going with Jason to the South campus to unload our water and clothes and then go out to rake supplies to relief workers and storm victims.

Here are some pics from today…

SBC-NAMB Disaster Relief Message – Joplin, MO

May 26, 2011 1 comment

Here is a video update from Dr. Kevin Ezell, President of our convention’s North American Mission Board–the SBC agency responsible for coordinating all of our disaster relief ministry efforts.

Let’s continue to pray…continue to give…continue to minister to our fellow Missourians, in Joplin, Poplar Bluff, & Sedalia, in their time of need.

[UPDATE: And here are the supplies brought into the church thus far. We also have monetary donations which will help with more supplies & the transporting of them to Joplin! GOCBC!!! This is awesome.]

MISSION: Senegal – Video

I just thought I’d share a video here of another aspect of my time in Senegal.  This man is a sand painter. Very talented.  You’ll probably have to turn up the sound on your computer, he was very soft-spoken…

I just thought he was too cool!

The Story

I’ve come across an exciting new web-based Gospel presentation which can link with our church website and be viewed on computer and mobile device platforms.  It’s called ‘The Story’ (website here).

It is a great presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which also provides the reader with a chance to send questions to us and to record a decision with an opportunity for us to follow-up with that person.

MISSION: Senegal – Returning Home

May 10, 2011 Leave a comment

I’ve been home now for just a few days…boy am I glad to be back with Rhonda and Logan and Jay…my family!!!  There truly is no place like home.  Sometimes extended trips help remind us of the blessings we have surrounding us every day.  Blessings we all to often take for granted. I pray that will not ever be the case for me again.

I also can’t help but think about the ongoing needs and opportunities among my brothers and sisters in Senegal.  Jefferson and his ministry heart for the Mandjak. Joseph and his faithful heart of ministry in the same fashion. The church at Dialandinghoto and the leaders their including Paul Mendy. God is developing that wonderful church there. The work of Pastor Ngor throughout Sedhiou.  Making Gospel connections in Bamakounda with Immanuel Mendy…in Kountoubou…in Bouno. The ministry of the Kelly family among the Mandinka people. May our Father in heaven place his hand of sovereign blessing on all that his people are doing in the Casamance region of Senegal.

Please join with me in fervent, continuing prayer for the work being done and yet to be done…in Senegal…in our church…in Claycomo and Kansas City and Gracemor and Gladstone and Pleasant Valley and Liberty and Parkville…in Missouri…in…

By Grace Alone!
